Amidst accelerating genocides and ecocides around the world, how will we fight against the annihilation of our people and our planet?
As a Ph.D. student at the UC Berkeley School of Information and IceBerk Lab, I study how Indigenous and frontline communities leverage emerging technology to fight for environmental justice and self-determination. My work spans across the intersections of human-computer interaction (HCI), community-based participatory design, and more-than-human imaginaries.
Previously, I was trained as a computer scientist (MIT) and designer (University of Washington). I've lived on five different continents, worked at Microsoft and early-stage startups, and researched at the MIT Media Lab and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). I love to teach, and have been involved with various educational initiatives across six countries. In a past life, I also performed around the world as a professional figure skater.
Please reach out if we share any of the same curiosities!
